Digital Scholar opened its doors to aspiring digital marketers in September 2019. It all began with our founder Sorav Jain’s vision to further the reach of digital marketing among the common folk. As a digital marketing institute, we want to give wings to every aspiring digital marketer out there, to soar high in today’s job market.

Our first batch came in with open minds and an enthusiastic attitude, ready to explore everything that Digital Scholar had on offer. Their training began in September 2019, and they graduate in December, upon completion of the 3-month flagship module.

It’s been a whirlwind journey, with memories for a lifetime. There’s been a lot for us to learn as well, as we put our best foot forward in shaping the students into capable digital marketers. What lies in store for you at Digital Scholar? Take a trip with us down memory lane, as we tell you the tale of DS Batch 1.

 Promising Beginnings

Everyone who signed up for Digital Scholar’s flagship course knew they were enrolling for a unique learning experience: that of an agency style approach. This was the ace up Digital Scholar’s sleeve; a form of digital marketing training that set it a class apart from other institutes.

Our first batch witnessed a turnout of 70+ people on Day 1, which was a majorly positive sign for us. Right off the bat, they were given an idea of how life at Digital Scholar would be. Instead of the cookie-cutter orientation sessions, we went for a more interactive option. All the students present had to come up with their own agency names and unique taglines for them. All in all, it was a promising start for our course.

 Lectures Beyond Classrooms

Then, the classes began in earnest. As with any institute, our students got the complete package when it comes to the academic part of digital marketing. From SEO to content marketing, every skill was covered with a hands-on approach. Our trainers ensured that every student grasped the concept thoroughly. This was done by giving them agency-based examples, placing the onus on the students to tackle real agency based situations.

The learning wasn’t limited just to the classes. To ensure the students were 100% digital marketing agency ready, doubt-clearing sessions were held every week. The scope of these sessions was to ensure that the students understood every concept to the T.

What would learning be without the chance to apply the skills on a practical basis? That’s why we regularly organized real-time projects for the students throughout the three-month module. We staged onsite visits for the students with clients such as JCS and WINK Salon so that they could get the full experience of dealing with clients as an agency member.

The students were game for all the interactive activities that we conducted for them. They enthusiastically participated and learnt a lot from the hands-on approach that we had on offer.

 A Feeling of Community

Through our digital marketing training sessions, we strive to ensure that learning is kept fun at all times. That’s why we organized specific lessons to be imparted as games that the entire class could participate in. Our Instagram taboo session was a smash hit with the students and proved to be a very interactive method to teach how Instagram works as a platform.

Healthy competition is regularly encouraged at Digital Scholar. The bloggers in the house consistently compete with one another to get better numbers on their blogs, with the leaderboards being updated regularly. There are other activities that were conducted to bring a sense of community to the Digital Scholar family.

Our inaugural Diwali celebrations were conducted amidst much fanfare, and it wasn’t just about decorations and pretty lights. We conducted a special set of competitions for our scholars. There were prizes galore, from best dressed Scholar, down to the winners of the Adzap competition. At Digital Scholar, we like to celebrate in style.

It’s safe to say that, at Digital Scholar, you never truly are alone in the learning process. You learn as much on the individual level as you do working in a team. This mirrors how life is at a digital marketing agency and gives them true digital marketing experience.

 Expert Guidance

Our trainers are well-equipped and experienced to impart all the necessary digital marketing skills to the Scholars. Sometimes, though, you have to bring out the big guns. A way for the Scholars to learn the current trends in the field is to interact with the best minds in the business. In that interest, we organized interactive sessions with a few digital marketing gurus. These personalities are well-known names in the Indian digital marketing circuit and are always looking to push the envelope in terms of going digital. Some of the big names who visited Digital Scholar are:

  • Abhishek Shah. This was Digital Scholar’s first guest lecture, and the students were super-stoked to interact with one of the game-changers in the field. Abhishek, in turn, was excited to have a face-to-face with our students, lauding our digital marketing institute as being one-of-a-kind.
  • DMC event. This was even bigger and better than our first guest lecture. We managed to bring 9 big-ticket names in the business like Siddharth Rajsekar, Avi Arya and Deepak Kanakaraju, to name a few, under one roof, for our Scholars to meet. Needless to say, it was an evening that was all things digital, with valuable insights and knowledge being shared to the Scholars. It was a Q&A session to remember.

Eminent digital marketers like Neil Patel had also shared their wishes for Digital Scholar, while also sharing their advice and tips for our students. It was indeed very heartening for us to receive support from the digital marketing fraternity on such a scale. Their support inspires us to be bigger and better with every step we take.

Rightful Place

The entire mission of Digital Scholar’s digital marketing training is to make aspiring digital marketers job-ready. So it’s only natural that we guide our students into their new jobs seamlessly, through dedicated placement training. Actual prep for the placements began weeks before D-day because the Scholars wanted to show up and do their best. Digital Scholar offers comprehensive placement assistance, with many companies (SocialBeat, WINK, and echoVME itself) offering placement in their organizations.

Placement training at Digital Scholar includes training in resume drafting, mock interview sessions and video profile drafting. In other words, you will be 100% confident to attend any interview, if you’re a Digital Scholar.

So when the big day rolled around, expectations were high. But in the end, Digital Scholar’s maiden placement drive turned out to be a big success, with every company in attendance lauding the students for their proficiency. The first batch of Digital Scholars has, in fact, created a few success stories of its own, acting as proof that our method works.
